It was The Brits award ceremony this week, a ceremony I've seen a few times and have always thought was pretty awful. This year was no exception. The actual award was designed by Damien Hirst and I think it's a piece of crap. I don't really see the attraction of Damien Hirst's work, I just can't see why his work sells for so much.

I hope the host for "The Brits" was funnier than Seth McFarlane at the Oscars. He went overboard on several jokes, and I was comforted to see that some people in the audience, including Samuel L. Jackson didn't think he was funny either.
Most award shows are horrid in one way or another. I rarely sit and watch...just try to catch the highlights later.
Tara: Some hosts can be too sarcastic and others are too gushing. Stephen Fry seems to hit the right tone for me, I like it when he is the host.
LB: The entertainment industry does like the glitz and glamour of awards shows. If I were an actor I would hate them. No other profession spends so much on awards but really when you think about it, it's very wrong that someone acting in a movie is rewarded and yet someone saving hundreds of lives a year or caring for hundreds of people gets very little recognition.
