Loss & Recovery
Ah, it feels good to back. My internet provider were screwing around trying to do the prep work for rolling out an 8MB service this coming August and it did soething to stop me connecting. It's funny how we've had almost 100% service levels for quite some time and had grown used to it. We rely on the internet like we do a utility service like a water or power company. We can do so many things from home because of the internet: from doing our banking to deciding what we're doing this evening. I'm just relieved that it was just down for a day and a half, any longer and I'm not sure what I would have done.

It's a sad, sad thing when the internet is out. It's even sadder that it is now considered a sad thing to us. Did that make sense? :)
I was without internet service today at work because my computer was down and the network techs were working on it. I actually got some work done that had nothing to do with the internet, so it wasn't a total loss.
Damn, is everybody in the UK on the same service? All my England dudes have lost or are losing their service. :/
8MB? I've got 7. I thought I was cool for a second. :)
Tara: I wonder what the history of the world thousands of years from now will say about the internet?
Ryan: Funny you should say that, I just mentioned it to someone at work the other day and they knew someone who was having a similar problem. I guess quite a few people here are being affected. I don't know whether I'll take up the 8MB service yet, I'll wait to see the price.
