Creating demand for a toy this Christmas

People on some forums are attempting to earn a profit by buying all of these up and selling them for higher prices on e-Bay. The idea being to make parents think their kids are going to be distraught if they don't get one for Christmas 2006, as it's "the toy" to get this year. I have no objection at all to e-Bay, it's an excellent service, but I do object to individual profiteers who seek to manipualte parents in this way.

that toy is cool for, like, the first 5 times you see it in action. after that, it's just plain annoying.

Just like a lot of toys that make a cute noise - it's only cute in the shop!

Isn't that just a re-cycled Muppet or something? Best buy for the kids was a Muppets DVD box set (supermarket cheapie) They love it and there are no accessories all over the place that I *have* to buy. Now I am on the lookout for bagpuss and The Fraggles :) E.

Your comment reminds me that my kids would probably love the Fraggles but I don't remember ever seeing a DVD.
