This is a really interesting site, it called One Red Paperclip and it started through a man trading a red paperclip for a pen. He has traded the stuff he gets gradually and is now trading a recording contract! It's an example of how a really simple idea can become an engaging web attraction.

I think he'll get there. It's interesting isn't it how the value we attach to something is subjective: what each of us wants varies so much and over time. It is certainly an interesting experiment in economics - if economics in school used more practical examples I think I might have got somewhere with it!
