Sound Recorder

I've been playing around with a tool I don't think I've ever used before and I do believe I've underrated the little gem. It's a small program that ships with Windows called Sound Recorder. I realise I've just alienated readers out there on Apple computers, sorry but I've always been a Windows user. Although I would like a Mac, I just have too much Windows software to go out and get one now. Although, in future who knows with Intel chips in Apple Macs. Anyways, I digress, but if you have a Windows PC and want to see an excellent example of what can be done with this little program you really have to check this site out. It was all done with Sound Recorder and standard Windows sounds.
This wasn't what I was doing. I was interested in embedding sounds in Word documents. My kids have a few books that have those sound buttons down the side that make a particular noise - for example we have a Scooby Doo book and one button has Shaggy shouting "Yoiks Scoob!". I want to try taking a standard kids story and put it into Word with coloured text and pictures and the sound of my kids shouting or doing sound effects. I thought it was a cool idea that I'd not heard anyone doing before. And I could send it to my mom and she would love it.
I also thought I could use it in conjunction with Audacity to create an audio message to go in my Blogger profile, well I haven't done this yet. It needs more thought.

That was so interesting! How creative! I love Sound Recorder, I use it all the time. Most of the audioblog postings on my blog were done first with SR and then I played it back to post for Audioblog. You can put things in reverse on there too.

Good luck with your project, you'll have to let us know how it turns out!

Duets with Tara and Sarah (this one has two other versions of it, both were bloopers. The "Duets" was the final performance for the night. :D

Now they ARE FUNNY! You made me laugh, so extra points to you! Have you considered podcasting ever? I like your accent.

Thanks FW, and I'm glad they made you laugh. I still giggle over a few of them myself. What is podcasting, though?

This explains what it is but I've found out about it by downloading Juice (there's a little lemon link on my blog home page) and subscribing to the Dawn and Drew show.

This explains how to do it using Blogger.
